Ocean City, NJ is a very family friendly location on the Jersey Shore. It is a dry town meaning the sale of alcoholic beverages is prohibited. This attracts a lot of families in the summer. You are allowed to purchase alcohol off of the island, bring it in, and consume it within your own rental. Ocean city has a very large boardwalk. The boardwalk is about 2.5 miles long and has a narrower residential section and a large business section. The width of the boardwalk is actually larger in the business section and has separate lanes for walkers and bikers. It runs from about 23rd street to North Street.
Ocean City is one of the largest Jersey Shore towns, therefore there are many flavors of rentals including condos, houses, townhouses, and hotels. There are many things to do on the island including fishing, biking, walking, shopping, restaurants and dining, and more. Although there are some activities towards the southern end of the island, the majority of activities and attractions are situated near the boardwalk and 9th street. There is ample parking available for those who want to take the short drive from the southern end of the island.
Ocean city senior week rentals are also very popular, but it is advised to check with the property manager about things such as age requirements before planning. Once you are on the island for your vacation, there really is no need to leave. Most of the same amenities that you have at home such as supermarkets and drugstores can be found in Ocean City.
